The online project of 'Discovering Sacred Texts' at the British Library provides access to the richness and diversity of the historic texts from some of the world’s greatest faiths. Associate Professor Amjad M. Hussain in his article for this project explains the common features of Islamic prayer exploring the linguistic, geographic and sectarian diversity of prayer in Islam accompanied with descriptions of Islamic artefacts from around the world, now located in the British Library.
